Cerne Abbas

  • FOCAS' (Friends of Cerne Abbas School) Mayfair was an overwhelming success and brought in a staggering £ 1,600.

This money is going to be used to replenish the school's non-fiction library.

The school would like to say a huge "Thank You" to all visitors and everyone who helped organising this major fund-raising event.

  • AN EVENING of entertainment entitled "Mortimer's Miscellany" awaits you on Wednesday, May 28 in the village hall.

This event starts at 7.30pm (doors open 6.45pm) and will be led by Sir John Mortimer of Rumpole of the Bailey fame.

His friends will be artist and composer Jon Lord (formally of Deep Purple) and the distinguished actresses Rohan McCullough and Marsha Fitzalan.

This will be a memorable show packed with anecdotes from the legal world, poetry, music, the words of Byron, Auden, Hardy - even a few insights into some bizarre, real-life murders!

Tickets are £ 15 (very back rows £ 12.50) and can be obtained from Cerne Abbas Stores.

You can also get tickets by phoning 01300 341227/342110/341439/341396 or by e-mailing cernevhtickets@uwclub.net.

Seats are limited, so book now.

A bar will be available.
