I HAVE just returned home from sitting in yet more Weymouth traffic going no where.
On Saturday May 17, I had woken with anticipation looking forward to supporting the Harley Davidson rally at Lodmoor Park. I even phoned the tourist information to ask what time the band would be playing.
It was raining and I did not want to wait around too long so thought I would get there about 12.30pm to see the bikes and the band and have an enjoyable time.
I left home at noon thinking I would park in Lodmoor car park. When I arrived at Chalbury Corner roundabout there was a queue. After 20 minutes I had moved about 500 yards.
I decided to continue as I was so looking forward to the event, (I had waited all year). After another 10 minutes, having moved about another 200 yards, I realised the band would have started playing and by the time I got there they would have finished.
I decided to try to get there along the Dorchester Road knowing I was trying my luck, but being determined I turned the car around heading back to the Littlemoor Road.
Yes, you guessed it, Littlemoor Road was blocking up from the Littlemoor roundabout and so I gave up and went home.
And it's only May - what on earth is going to happen in the next few weeks?
I guess I will have to wait another year for the Harley Davidson rally.
