A NEW one-to-one approach by Weymouth and Portland Borough Council is giving community groups a personal point of contact.
Customer service adviser Carina Cameron-Clarke is working with community groups and other local organisations to help fast-track council-related enquiries.
All queries aim to be answered within 24 hours and followed up to ensure a satisfactory response is received.
Six groups are already involved in the scheme, including Dorset Association for the Disabled, Westham COPS and Littlemoor Community Action Group.
The South West Dorset Branch Multiple Sclerosis Society, Waterside Forum and Weymouth Canoe Lifeguards are also using the one-to-one service.
Carina is available on request to attend group meetings to introduce herself and explain the new one-to-one service to other groups.
So far the service has helped residents to arrange dog warden patrols in King Street and Queen Street in Weymouth and addressed graffiti and fly-tipping problems in Littlemoor.
Carina also helped to arrange a licence to hold community film mornings in Littlemoor.
Council information services unit manager Peter Gilmore said: "We are offering one-to-one contact with community groups because we recognise and value the important role they play within the borough."
