• THE clowns were out and about at Greenford Primary School, Maiden Newton, last Sunday.

They were part of the Happy Circus visiting the school over the weekend to entertain the children and their parents for the day.

The clowns just could not resist the opportunity to jump on to a jeep forming part of the nearby Maiden Newton at War display and to entertain the crowds.

Greenford School headmaster Franz Atkinson said "The children loved the show, especially the clowns.

The weather has been fantastic and everyone has enjoyed the circus event, which has raised funds for the school.

The circus is one of a number of fundraising events that we planned for this year.

It is good to be able to do something a little different that provides family entertainment for everyone connected with the school and the village"

The next event at the school is on June 21 and 22, which is a spectacular 1940's event, including re-enactments, military vehicles, home front displays, a big band outdoor concert and other family entertainment.
