While I applaud Sunseeker International for creating a manufacturing facility on Portland and creating local employment opportunities, I must question their planning of movement of their wide loads.
Yesterday (Thursday) it took me over an hour to get from Portland to the Granby Industrial Estate because of the movement of a wide load.
This load had a police escort and I would like to know why the decision was made to move this load at 7.15am just as people were making their way to work.
The chaos it caused between Portland and the Granby was ridiculous, but I dread to think what chaos it caused on the road to Dorchester and beyond.
Surely it would have been better to move this load during silent hours, thereby causing much less disruption to so many.
