RESIDENTS at a sheltered housing scheme are enjoying summer evenings on a new patio thanks to the Prince's Trust.
A group of 16-21 year-olds was tasked with financing and building a project in three weeks and chose to construct a patio for the elderly and disabled residents at Westhaven House, Radipole Lane, Weymouth.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Weymouth Coun David Harris and his wife Jenny attended the opening of the refurbished garden.
Secretary of the residents association at Westhaven House Rick Burdaky said it was great to be chosen because they already wanted an extended patio in the garden.
He said: "It was their choice of where to carry out their project and what they handed back is magnificent.
"The residents really took to them and the interaction was brilliant as they were exceptional."
The Prince's Trust supports young people in getting into education and employment through schemes including the 12-week team programme that includes work experience and the community project.
