I should like to bring your attention to my recent experience of applying for a role in the film being made locally, The Boat That Rocked'.
My husband and I queued all of a Saturday morning, several weeks ago, in the hope of being chosen as 'extras'.
Eventually we were ushered in to one of the leading hotels on the Esplanade, filled in a form with all our details, name, address, home/mobile telephone numbers, e-mail address and personal details etc. Then having our height, measurements and a photograph taken.
As I read in the Echo, the cameras have started rolling for this comedy set in the 1960s.
What has upset me is that no word has been forthcoming from the film company at all, to say "no thank you'. What will happen to our private details?
Surely they should have advised us and I expect all the other hundreds of local people that applied for a part in the film would like a reply as well. I find it very unprofessional, just leaving people dangling, and wondering where their personal information will land up!
