Groynes should be put into position along the beach by Weymouth's pier bandstand as they used to be.
This will protect our youngsters from motor boats and make a safer beach for them to swim.
It will also prevent too much sand from blowing into town centre streets in winter.
It will stop the easterly winds from taking the dry sand off the surface and also stabilise the remainder.
The groynes will stop the high winds coming across the beach at ground level.
