SHOWING their high regard for Portland St John Ambulance, representatives from various organisations attended a special presentation evening held at the Division's hut in Easton Lane.
Bob Mico, chairman/secretary of Weymouth Golf Club's charity committee, was present to hand over a defibrillator life support machine as part of the donations they have made to good causes from the proceeds of their annual August Charity Week.
President Dick Barton, accompanied by committee members from Portland RNA, handed over a cheque for £600 which, he said: "Represents donations made by members winning raffles at our monthly meetings and private donations from members over the past year."
Mr Terry Graham attended to represent Court Leet which had provided £500 to buy four high visibility jackets and four vests plus ambulance stores.
A cheque for £200 from Weymouth Moose Ladies was presented by Mrs Joyce Holcombe who was accompanied by 73-year-old Mrs Norma Ralph of Weymouth who had last attended Portland St John Ambulance when she was an 11-year-old cadet.
Special guests were Mr Peter Pitman and his wife, Jill, who by opening their garden to the public have raised £1,700 towards new HQs for Portland St John over the past three years.
