A PEDESTRIAN crossing at Milborne St Andrew is set to get the green light from Dorset County Council.
The scheme, for a crossing at the A354 in the square, is already at the consultation stage, members of the council's roads and rights of way committee will hear at their meeting tomorrow. Tim Westwood, the council's transportation manager, states in a report to members that the coming year's programme should continue to include the Milborne St Andrew crossing, along with one on the A351 at Wareham St Martin which is due to be finished by the end of this year.
He is also asking members to recommend to cabinet the inclusion of two puffin crossings requested for Dorchester Road, Weymouth, and two other crossings, including Burton Bradstock High Street, to be included in the programme of work for 2008/09.
But he suggests that eight schemes, including calls for crossings at Bridport Road, Icen Way and South Walks Road in Dorchester, be dropped because they do not meet the criteria.
