With demonstrations against Putin’s ‘war’ spreading across Russia, it seems that people are, not before time, waking up to the fact that their leader is a lying, arguably insane, despot.

They are now asking themselves why if, as they are repeatedly assured, ‘everything is going to plan’ with Putin’s ‘special military operation’ against Ukraine that was supposed to last just a few days but is now in it’s seventh month, their leader is now calling up 300,000 reservists.

And it has become impossible for the Kremlin to cover up the appalling losses among its forces (conservatively estimated at 50,000 dead) and of equipment, much of which is now being used by Ukrainian forces against the Russian invaders.

Putin is set to declare the parts of the Ukraine that are occupied by his troops to be part of Russia.

Some 80 years ago, another insane megalomaniac, Adolf Hitler, launched his forces on their bloody mission to make all of Europe part of his greater 1,000-year German Reich (which only lasted five years) and resulted in the almost total destruction of his country and leaving it a pariah among civilised nations for decades.

That is the road that Putin is leading his people down.
