BUDDING pop stars sang their hearts out at the final of a charity talent competition in Weymouth.
Amy Winehouse and Elton John wannabes were among the hopefuls battling it out at the musical showdown at The Rock in Abbotsbury Road.
The Rock Star contest was organised to raise cash for the Westham Cops community group, who are organising the Westham 125 anniversary event.
The Rock owner Dave Hampton said: "It went really well. There was plenty of good quality music and we raised about £300."
The final was the culmination of the 13-week competition and judges included local musicians and Wessex FM DJ Dave Goulden.
Workers from The Party Shop in Abbotsbury Road were on hand with costumes and make-up to transform contestants into their chosen showbiz stars.
The winner was Leanne Warne, from Weymouth, who impersonated pop star Christina Aguilera for the night. Mr Hampton said the contest finalists will be returning to The Rock again on May 25 to perform at another charity night.
"They were all great singers and the standard was very high," he added. "We're now also hoping some of them will come back and do some gigs for us."
