- THE Willowbed Hall Management Committee have asked me to let you know that they are looking for people who have a talent or a craft that they would be prepared to show or demonstrate on the Chickerell Carnival Day.
It could be anything from sport, any type of craft work, needlework, pottery etc or an act of some kind.
If you have a particular talent to showcase and you think that people would be interested to see it then please telephone Pat Franklin on 788697.
The carnival day is being held on the afternoon of Saturday, August 16 on the Willowbed field.
I will let you know more details on what will be happening nearer the time.
- THE week before the carnival Chickerell will be seeing the return of the flower and produce show.
It will be at the Willowbed Hall with judging in the morning and will be open to the public in the afternoon.
Entry forms will be available in the next few weeks. Again I will let you know where you can acquire these from once they become available.
Classes include cut flowers, shrubs and trees, pot plants, vegetables and fruit, cookery, handicraft, floral arrangements and photography.
- CHICKERELL School are looking for a lunch time supervisor for three days per week, term time only.
If you would be interested please phone Tricia Pearson in the school office on 783876.
- L.I.F.T., Ladies in Fellowship Together, will be meeting on Wednesday, May 14 at 2.30pm in the Chickerell Methodist Church Chapel.
They are meeting to prepare for the rally which will be held on Wednesday, May 28.
This will be followed by tea and coffee. Everyone welcome to attend.
- ST Mary's Church will be having afternoon tea in the Rectory Gardens on Saturday, May 17 from 3pm to 5pm.
Why not join them for a selection of sandwiches, homemade cakes, scones and endless tea and coffee all for only £5 per person.
All proceeds will be going to the church funds.
Also at St Mary's Church, they will be holding a choral evensong on Sunday, May 18.
It starts at 6pm and youngsters from the Thomas Hardye School Chapel Choir will be singing evensong.
Do go along and hear the timeless beauty of the language of the book of common prayer married to fine singing by the chapel choir.
Everyone is most welcome to attend this event.
- THE Chickerell and Charlestown Townswomen's Guild are having a demonstration on card making t bag style by Caroling Outram on Tuesday, May 20.
It will be starting at 7.30pm and is held at Marshallsay Court.
They meet often and have various other activities that you could join in with such as a games evening, a knit and natter where everyone is invited to knit items for charity, luncheon outings and social studies.
You would be made very welcome should you wish to attend.
