WHILE queuing in heavy traffic on New Road caused by the terrible fatal accident in Chiswell last Sunday, my brakes failed Although the cars were moving quite slowly, I was aware that this would cause an accident if the situation was unresolved.
Unfortunately I had to swerve to avoid collision with, firstly, a black car in front of me and then a silver car coming in the opposite direction. Thankfully, I managed to pull into Tilleycombe Road and stop my car. My apologies to those people who assumed I had no patience and was trying to avoid the traffic.
Thanks to the man who was driving the Ford Fiesta who came to see if I was all right and made sure I could get picked up and taken home.Claire SherrattHeadland CloseSouthwell
