The case was heard at Weymouth Magistrates Court.
A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
Benjamin Robert Heal, 41, appeared at Weymouth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, September 14 and pleaded not guilty.
The charge is in relation to an alleged incident where, between August 9 and August 21 2021, the defendant is accused of intentionally attempting to communicate with the online profile of a person under 16; and who he did not reasonably believe to be 16.
Heal, whose address was given as Trent, near Sherborne, opted for a summary trial.
The two day trial will take place at Weymouth Magistrates Court on Monday, February 6 and Tuesday, February 7 2023.
