Nursing home residents took part in a sponsored walk to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The residents of Signature House in Dorchester were joined by staff for the Memory Walk in the home's landscaped gardens.
Dorchester Mayor Janet Hewitt opened the walk, with some residents' family members cheering them on and others taking part themselves. Participants did two laps of the garden.
The afternoon carried on with an afternoon tea and some entertainment from local artist Brian Paul, who delighted the residents by playing some classic tunes from Neil Diamond to Louis Armstrong.

The event raised more than £250 for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity close to the hearts of many residents, family members and staff members. Money was raised through donations and a raffle, which included prizes from many local businesses.
Michelle Beverley, activities coordinator at Signature House, said: “We wanted to get involved with the Alzheimer’s Society and organised our own event for a long time but were stopped in our tracks by Covid-19.
"The Memory Walk has been an opportunity for our residents to enjoy our beautiful garden and to make a difference by raising funds for The Alzheimer’s Society. Thank you to everyone who donated time and money to make this event happen."
