CULLOMPTON RANGERS 5
C Bryant 12, J Bryant 19, 61, 88, Wilkinson 69
BRIDPORT conceded five goals in a game for the first time this season as Cullompton Rangers took a deserved 5-0 victory in their South West Peninsula League Premier East clash.
Four of the goals appeared soft concessions, with young stand-in keeper Kian Wootton enduring a night to forget between the sticks.
Jack Bryant scored a hat-trick for Cully against a Bridport side that had previously only lost by one-goal margins this season.
Cullompton set the tone for a dominant first half when the unmarked Ben Scott headed wide a golden chance at the back post six minutes in.
Wootton, in for injured goalkeeper Callum Smalley, then survived a bad error when he dropped a cross into the path of Conor Bryant.

Wootton’s blushes were however spared by a superb recovery block from skipper Dan Baggs with the goal gaping.
Cullompton soon took the lead, though, capitalising on more slack defending as Conor Bryant swept home Joel Wilkinson’s low cross in the 12th minute.
Wilkinson nearly made it two goals in a minute for the visitors when he raced on to a long ball and lobbed Wootton, only to see the effort bounce wide.
As Cullompton raided forward at will, Wootton did well to keep out Jack Bryant’s dipping shot, although the midfielder made it 2-0 on 19 minutes when his rasping drive was too powerful for Wootton to keep out.
Bridport had their first shot of any sort on 25 minutes when Matheus Oliveira dragged wide from 30 yards, prior to Wilkinson picking Josh Grace’s pocket and pulling wide himself.
Cully hit the post through Aiden Horne but Bridport had their brightest spell just before half-time as Mo Hereka and Dan Peart had shots blocked before Sol Ayunga really should have scored from 12 yards, away keeper Will Davis making a good save.
Bridport continued their good play after the break when Hereka cut inside from the left and fired just over.
Sub Owen Peart, who impressed when he came on, then sent a dipping shot wide on the hour.
Bridport’s defensive frailty returned a few seconds later when a counter picked out Jack Bryant with Wootton only able to push his shot against the post and in.
Davis denied Ayunga’s sweetly struck free-kick but Cullompton made it 4-0 from a free-kick of their own as Wilkinson’s effort floated over Wootton’s outstretched glove.
Wootton then misjudged a long ball and was lucky to see Wilkinson shoot wide, before the keeper made a good save from Scott.
However, Wootton was culpable for the fifth goal as Jack Bryant’s shot, straight at the keeper, cannoned into the net off his arm.
Owen Peart sent an imaginative 35-yard attempt over late on but Bridport were well beaten for what was their heaviest defeat of the season.
Bees: Wootton, Grace (O Peart 49), Gall, White, Baggs, D Peart, Greenwood-Neate (Arnold 70), Hereka, Ayunga (Bogdan 73), Mamanta, Oliveira (Yu 51).
