FIREFIGHTERS raced to a combine harvester which was on fire yesterday evening.
Crews from Maiden Newton and Bridport were called to tackle a combine harvester on fire in Wynford Eagle at 6.28pm on Monday, August 29.
The fire was extinguished using hose reel jets.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received a call at 6.28pm yesterday evening about a large vehicle fire in Wynford Eagle. Crews from Maiden Newton and Bridport attended the incident which involved a combine harvester alight on arrival.
"Firefighters emptied the combine of grain, removed panels and were able to extinguish the fire using hose reel jets. Our stop came at 8.45pm."
Yesterday, a spokesman for Maiden Newton Fire Station said: "Today we had a shout with our colleagues from Bridport Fire Station. A combine harvester at Wynford Eagle. These are difficult because they are complex with so many hidden pockets of dust and fire."
