A unique appeal is being made - asking the public to donate insects, among other supplies.
Monkey World, near Wool, has issued a 'wish-list' of desired supplies ranging from insects to seeds, nuts and squash for the animals.
Anyone wishing to donate can find out more on the Monkey World facebook page.
A spokesperson for Monkey World said: "(Insects) are a great form of nutrition for so many of our guys here, the monkey species in particular, but even the apes appreciate the odd waxworm or locust."
The ape rescue centre was established by Jim Cronin in 1987 and currently houses over 250 animals: it features on the TV show Monkey Life.
