A number of motorists were clocked driving over the speed limit as police took to Weymouth and Portland streets for speed checks.
Following speeding complaints from the local community, Weymouth and Portland Police conducted speed checks on Abbotsbury Road, Buxton Road, Wide Street and Weston Road.
During the checks, which took place on Sunday (August 21), police clocked a motorbike driving 50mph on a 30mph road, a car going 49mph in a 30mph zone, and a car driver was caught using a mobile phone at the wheel.
A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland Police said: “Special Constables Jordan and Aaron were on patrol in Weymouth and Portland yesterday. Whilst on shift they conducted speed checks on Abbotsbury Road, Buxton Road, Wide Street and Weston Road. This was in response to speeding complaints from the local community.”
