WEYMOUTH Sea Life Adventure Park has announced a brand-new behind the scenes tour, allowing guests to see what's involved in making the aquarium work.
Since opening almost 40 years ago, Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park has been home to an amazing array of creatures, with guests able to explore the ‘public’ side of the attraction from sharks to penguins to jellyfish and otters.
However, thanks to redevelopment of the aquarium’s facilities, for the first time ever guests will be able to go behind the scenes and understand everything that makes the attraction tick.
Visitors will be taken on a tour of the aquarium, including access to working areas which are usually closed off to the public. They will learn all about the breeding programmes, witness the kitchen – which prepares over nine tonnes of fish food a year - and even get a sneak peek at new arrivals in the attraction’s quarantine area.
Tamsin Mutton-McKnight, general manager at Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park, said: “We cannot wait to bring our new behind the scenes experience to our guests. Visitors are always asking us about how we care for the animals and what goes on behind closed doors, so what better way to answer those questions than to show them!
“The new tour will last approximately 50 minutes and give guests the opportunity to see things they won’t be able to see anywhere else. We’re looking forward to sharing with the public exactly how SEA LIFE Weymouth creates the perfect environment for the sea creatures in our care.”
Tickets for the behind the scenes experience will cost £6.50 on top of the standard entry ticket.
