Organisers of the Dorset County Show are expecting a bumper turn-out with just two weeks to go until the event returns.
The County Show will be back at Dorchester Showground, Cokers Frome, on the weekend of September 3 and 4.
More than 60,000 visitors are anticipated at the showcase which has been organised by the Dorchester Agricultural Society (DAS) for more than 180 years.
The Dorset County Show includes a full programme of events and attractions across the two days including the main ring events, around 6,000 exhibits and trade stands which include Shopping at The Avenue, and local artisan food and drink.
Nicki Ralph, Chair of DAS said: “The show team has been busy preparing for this year’s show which is well underway to being an event to remember.
“We’re all really looking forward to welcoming the community back to enjoy the Show and support local businesses after the two-year unavoidable break.
“The team has curated a programme of events that the public know and love, as well as introducing some new events and activities which we hope all will enjoy.”
The event looks to showcase excellence in local agriculture and rural life: including artisans, farmers and local producers.
James Sealey, managing director of Jurassic Coast Farm Shop, will be attending this year’s show with a selection of meats, cheeses and vegetables to purchase.
He said: “Our farm shop has evolved to offer an alternative shopping experience to deliver the finest and freshest produce at affordable prices from the countryside straight to your door.
“I am looking forward to this year’s show and talking to people about our products. The best thing about selling our own cooked food is telling customers about how their food was produced and reared on our family farm.
“The show is also a great family-friendly day out, with the opportunity for the community to come together to catch up with friends, old and new, often over a beer in the member’s pavilion.”
Advance tickets for the show are available to purchase online at £21pp or in person on the day. Children under 16 years old enjoy free entry.
