Spectators gearing up to welcome the Tour of Britain next month can start planning their day with a raft of information being released by organisers.
The race, stage seven of the Tour, will get underway at West Bay’s Esplanade at 11am on Saturday, September 10.
Over 100 cyclists will visit 14 towns and villages in Dorset over the course of a stage that will last approximately four hours.
The Team Paddock at the start line will allow racegoers to get autographs and selfies, plus see the latest bike equipment.
The conclusion - at around 3pm - will be on Victoria Road in Ferndown.
A rolling road closure will be enforced throughout the stage route. This means roads on and around the race route will be closed to traffic by Police Escort Vehicles.
The start and finish locations will see significantly longer closures with road closures at West Bay’s Esplanade and Quayside from 4am until 2pm; Victoria Road, Ferndown, will be closed until roughly 9pm.
Spectators are encouraged to get involved supporting their favourite rider or team but organisers are reminding people to make sure they, and the cyclists, can stay safe.
A spokesperson said: “Please keep children back from the edge of the road and put animals on a lead, away from the roadside.
“Riders pass by very fast, and while we encourage support, please keep flags, objects and photography equipment out of the road.
“Remember, taking selfies is fun, but turning your back on the race is never a good idea. Please face the oncoming riders and race convoy at all times.”
