Residents of a village in west Dorset were left "startled" after the discovery of an explosive.
Dorset Police were called to Evershot at 4.51pm yesterday (Sunday, August 14) following reports of a possible World War 2 incendiary device.
The item was found in Back Lane, Evershot.
Police attended the scene and informed the Explosive Ordnance Department.
The EOD disposed of the item and made the surrounding area safe.
One resident said they were "startled" when they heard the news and added they "weren't really sure what was going on."
