A LARGE cruise ship with more than two thousand passengers aboard has arrived at Portland Port.

The Norwegian Star operated by Norwegian Cruise Line can hold up to 2,348 passengers across 15 decks.

It consists of 1,176 cabins – 70% of which have views of the ocean. Unusual for a cruise ship, it has twin 220-square-metre, three-bedroom suites situated atop the ship complete with private garden and sundeck.

Describing the cruise ship, Norwegian Cruise Line states: "Recently refurbished as part of The Norwegian Edge programme, Norwegian Star brings freedom and flexibility to cruises spanning the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, South America, and Transatlantic.

"Onboard, Norwegian Star features a large delicious dining options, bars and lounges, a sprawling spa, an always-exciting casino with VIP area, plus tonnes of fun for kids of every age."
