The seaside charms of Weymouth will come under the spotlight on television tomorrow night.
Comedian Susan Calman will be calling into Weymouth for the second series of her Channel 5 show Susan Calman's Grand Week by the Sea.
Each day this week, she’s in a different seaside resort, enjoying her holiday and has packed all of her joy and enthusiasm as she celebrates some of the best of the British seaside.
The Weymouth episode is unlikely to disappoint, with Susan taking in the award-winning sandy beach and kicking off her visit by riding the land train before stopping to have a play in the sand.
She'll be joined by fellow Strictly contestant Ore Oduba who reveals to Susan his love of the seaside despite his dislike of seagulls and sand. They decide to hit the water on a thrilling jet ski ride enjoying the adrenaline inducing speed and the breath-taking views.
Realising that her sandcastle-building skills need some work, Susan heads to Sandworld to learn from an expert, sand sculptor Mark Anderson.
Here she will get to see gigantic sand artworks made by sculptors from all around the world and get tips on how to build the perfect sandcastle.
Susan will call in at Abbotsbury Swannery where she helps the team out at feeding time before enjoying the special honour of counting the new cygnets.
The programme will also showcase some of the finest cuisine on offer in Weymouth, with Susan trying her hand at some lobster grilling under the watchful eye of a Michelin starred chef.
Ways to relax in the popular resort will also be shown, with Ore going paddle-boarding while Susan steps inside a B&B which is all about books, prompting dreams of adventure and romance.
Weymouth's quirky side will feature, with Susan encountering three 'mermaids' on Weymouth beach, who come to shore to chat about their fantastic lifestyle.
Other seaside resorts to be featured in Susan Calman's Grand Week by the Sea are the Isle of Wight tonight (Tuesday) and Tenby on Thursday.
