A CLUB is proud of its swim-pressive achievement.

A Blanford swimming club took the lead in the league table to secure the top spot in a swimming competition.

The competition went swimmingly for the Blandford Flyers Swimming Club which took a four point lead in the 2022 Jurassic League, making it their first ever win.

Jon Creffield, head coach at Blandford Flyers Swimming Club, said: “It was an outstanding performance from everyone in the squad, many having to swim up an age group or two or swim events outside of their comfort zone but the challenges were accepted without hesitation and many valuable points were gained for the team.

“This is a massive achievement for the club and a result of all the hard work at training and determination to succeed as a team, the team spirit throughout the competition has been commendable with the encouragement and support provided to each other playing a major part in this success.

“The club is very proud of every one of our swimmers and hope they are also proud of their achievements - they deserve all the praise they are getting.”

The Jurassic League is highly contested by six local swimming clubs over four rounds, and there was fierce competition from other Dorset clubs including Bridport and Weymouth.

Mr Creffield said: “A big thank you to the clubs, Bridport Barracudas, Frome, Heron, Weymouth and Wincanton for making it such a great competition, to Mark Hoskins for his dedication in organising the event and all the officials, coaches and volunteers for their time and expertise.”
