THE bomb disposal team was called after a possible explosive device was discovered in Purbeck over the weekend.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the area of Godlingston Heath in Studland on Saturday afternoon along with police officers and the fire service.
The possible ordnance was reported to Dorset Police at around 12.30pm.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “We received a report at 12.32pm on Saturday 16 July 2022 relating to possible ordnance found in the area of Godlingston Heath in Purbeck.
“Officers attended, along with the fire service. An EOD team also attended and carried out an assessment of the item, which was found not to be an explosive device.
“Officers left the scene at around 5.30pm.”
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene at 1.01pm and an off-road vehicle attended.
