A UNINSURED van driver was clocked speeding at nearly 100mph with his two-year-old daughter in the vehicle.
“It seemed we were picking on vans,” said a member of the Dorset Police's No Excuse team after reporting two drivers for a range of offences on Thursday, July 14.
A blue Fiat was stopped for having no insurance, which the driver apparently admitted to straight after being stopped.
However, the vehicle also had no MOT or tax since last year. When officers conducted did a licence check, they found he didn't have a licence either. The van was subsequently seized and the driver reported to court and the DVLA.
Secondly, a Ford Transit was stopped on a carriageway for travelling at 98mph in a 60mph zone. According to officers, the driver was rushing to drop his two-year-old daughter off somewhere.
He wasn't insured, and his provisional licence was expired too. The van was seized and the driver reported to court.
