A MAN has been jailed for attacking a woman on two separate occasions in hotels.
Martin Owen, of Eleanor Coade Mews in Poundbury, appeared in Weymouth Magistrates Court for sentencing on Wednesday, July 6.
The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating.
One of the charges relates to an incident which took place on April 28 this year in which he assaulted a woman by beating her at the Alexandra Hotel on The Esplanade in Weymouth.
The second charge relates to a separate incident which took place a few weeks later, on May 16, in which Owen assaulted the same woman by beating her at The Ocean Hotel in Southwell Business Park on Portland.
Magistrates' committed Owen to prison for a total of 12 weeks because the offences were deemed to be so serious and were aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending.
A three-year restraining order was also made on conviction, banning him from contacting, directly or indirectly, the victim.
Owen must also pay compensation of £200 as well as a £128 victim surcharge.
