A CASUALTY was stretchered down a steep hill along the Dorset coastal path by several emergency responders after becoming unwell.
Kimmeridge Coastguard was called at 12.22pm on Sunday, July 3, to Mupe Bay – east of Lulworth – to reports of a person feeling very unwell and dizzy halfway up a steep hill.
Upon arrival a Lulworth Coastguard team was already in attendance and providing casualty care.
After also being assessed by Lulworth community responders and a South Western Ambulance crew, the decision was made for a very difficult stretcher carry as the best means of extraction.
Due to the awkwardness of the location and means of extraction, St Alban’s Coastguard was also paged to assist.
A Kimmeridge Coastguard spokesperson said: “After arriving at our location all teams worked carefully together descending the very steep hill and steps using the stretcher in most parts as a sledge to bring the casualty back down to the awaiting ambulance.
“Once safely back down, the person was taken to hospital and all teams stood down.”
