TWO men crashed through a window during a fight in Bridport town centre.
The shocking violence in the early hours left blood spattered on the pavement and on shops and a business was forced to call out workers to board up one of the broken windows.
A nearby business owner told of her shock as she came across the aftermath as she went to open up the next morning.
Emergency services were called to East Street in Bridport at 2am on Saturday, June 18 following reports of a fight.
Two men went through a window at a Thai restaurant during the incident.
A business owner in East Street, said: "Five police cars were in attendance plus an ambulance.
"There was an inordinate amount of blood on the pavement. I had passed the bloody mess on the Saturday morning."
"I have been told that council workers were here at 6.30am cleaning blood off the window of shops in East Street.
"It's not a good image for Bridport."
A spokesman from Bridport Town Council said the authority is aware of an incident and will be contacting Dorset Police to obtain further information.
A spokesman from Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 1.59am on Saturday, June 18 of a fight in East Street.
"Officers attended with the ambulance service.
"It is reported that during the incident two men went through a shop window.
"One of the men – aged in his 20s – sustained a head injury and received medical treatment.
"A second man, also aged in his 20s, sustained serious injuries to his legs and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not life-threatening."
A spokeswoman from the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, said: "We were called at 1.58am on Saturday, June 18 to an incident in Bridport.
"We sent a double-crewed ambulance and conveyed one patient to Dorset County Hospital."
Police said enquiries are ongoing into the incident, while no arrests have been made at this time.
