A RAILWAY embankment fire sparked an emergency response after it spread into gardens close by.
Crews from Swanage Fire Station were called to the incident yesterday (Wednesday June 22) at Harmans Cross and were shortly joined by crew from Poole.
A spokesperson for Swanage Fire Station said: “This afternoon one fire appliance was called to an embankment fire in Harmans Cross which had spread to nearby gardens.
“We quickly made up for a second appliance which came from Poole to help. Crews worked hard to get the fire under control quickly and are now back home hoping for no more fires on such a hot day.”
