AN EXTENSIVE search was carried out yesterday evening following concerns over the report of an upturned boat.
Lyme Regis RNLI launched a lifeboat at 5.10pm after Solent coastguards received reports of “an upturned small boat” in the Golden Cap area between Bridport and Charmouth.
The volunteer crew were joined by a coastguard helicopter and searched the area for two and a half hours.
Despite the extensive search nothing was found and both crews were stood down as dusk approached.
