THE LARGEST residential cruise ship in the world docked in Portland earlier this morning.
MS The World was launched in 2001 and operates as the floating equivalent of a luxury block of flats.
The vessel features around 165 apartments with an elite group of wealthy passengers from over 40 countries on board.
The World is registered in The Bahamas and is nearly 200m in length, 29.8metres wide and has 12 decks.
In 2017 the ship broke the record for the southernmost ship voyage when Captain Dag H. Sævik, crew members and the 63 residents on board reached the Bay of Whales in Antarctica.
On board, the ship has a grocery store, a golf simulator and tennis court as well as a movie theatre, six restaurants and live music performances.
