ONE PERSON has been hospitalised following a crash between two vehicles earlier this morning.
The collision took place in Winterbourne Steepleton and involved a car and a large articulated dumper truck.
Fire crews from Bridport Fire Station and Dorchester Fire Station were called to the crash at 6.54am: police and ambulance personnel were also in attendance.
The driver of the car was taken by land ambulance to hospital. The truck driver didn't sustain any injuries.
Coombe Road was closed in order to allow crews to make the scene safe and for police to carry out an investigation.
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said: "One pump from Bridport along with one pump from Dorchester Fire Station were mobilised to a Road Traffic Collision in Winterbourne Steepleton involving one passenger car and one large articulated dumper truck."
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 6.50am on Wednesday 15 June 2022 to a report of a two vehicle collision on Coombe Road in Winterbourne Steepleton. Officers attended with the ambulance and fire services.
"One person was taken to hospital for treatment. One of the vehicles was recovered and the road reopened at around 8.30am."
