Bunting at the ready - celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee are beginning.
They start today, Thursday, and events are being held across four days as people come together to share this once-in-a-lifetime occasion.
National celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend include a star-studded pop concert, a carnival pageant and the lighting of thousands of beacons across the world.

THURSDAY, JUNE 2

Old Brewery Hall, Ansty – 4pm - opening of phone box as TIC and Jubilee Bake Off challenge
Portland - Cenotaph opposite The Heights hotel, Beacon lighting – events start at 8.30pm
Salisbury Fields, Dorchester – Beacon lighting from 9pm – classical soprano
Brunswick Terrace, Weymouth – Jubilee artwork on show 12pm – 5pm
Durlston Castle, Swanage – Beacon lighting, evening events

Victoria Gardens, Portland – 11am -3pm – Jubilee Party with teddy bears’ picnic, brass band and stalls
BBQ and live music from 12 noon at the George Inn, Portland
All day music at The Boat That Rocks, Portland - 1pm onwards
Concert at All Saints Church, Easton, Portland celebrating Queen's reign - starts at 7.30pm

Live music, cream teas and refreshments - Easton Methodist Church, Portland - 2pm to 4.30pm
Fordington Green, Dorchester - All day – Celebrations on the Green: Brunch from 10am with Bean on the Green, St George's Church will host a Jubilee Street Party from 2pm and a thanksgiving service at 4.30pm. Dress up in your best red, white and blue!

Big Jubilee Picnic on The Marsh, Weymouth - 11am - 3pm, all entertainment free, bring your own lunch. Fancy dress welcomed - come dressed as a King, Queen, Prince or Princess - or even a corgi! There will be a bouncy castle, fun and games and a cake baking competition.
