AN AIR ambulance scrambled to Weymouth Beach following reports of an 'incident'.
The Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA), along with two ambulance crews, was called to Weymouth Beach on Thursday (May 26) evening.
An eyewitness said: "Around 8pm, a yellow helicopter was cruising around the Weymouth Beach area eventually finding a landing space close to the Regent Hotel on the beach blowing up plenty of sand onto some passes by.
"Two paramedics exited the helicopter armed with the emergency paramedic pack.
"I understand there was an older gentleman casualty that they had attended to. I'm not aware the outcome, or the cause of the incident."
A spokeswoman for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 8.17pm on Thursday to an incident in Weymouth.
"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer and an air ambulance."
SWASFT or DSAA did not provide any more information on the incident.
