DORSET Blind Association has had a week to remember with a trio of events and milestones to celebrate.
The charity’s soon-to-open shop on St Mary Street, Weymouth, is starting to take shape with volunteers currently being recruited.

The organisation said: "We’ll be announcing the official opening very shortly so keep an eye on our social media channels."
Meanwhile, last Tuesday the Broadstone shop celebrated its first birthday with Graeme Billington, from BBC Two’s ‘The Speed Shop’, showing his support for the cause alongside his father Dave - a volunteer at the Dorset Blind Association.
There’s further success with the continuation of their creative workshops run in partnership with CoCreate. The events take place in Weymouth and are supported by funding from Dorset Council: on Thursday the group ran a sensory drawing session enabling members to make drawings inspired by the handling of natural materials such as shells and dried leaves. The final taster session will take place on June 8th and focus on 3D modelling.
