WIMBORNE Model Town is appealing for information about four Dorset model dioramas that featured in the grounds of the original 1950s site - including a landmark near Weymouth. It comes as the attraction celebrates its 70th anniversary this summer.
The first guide book for the new 1/10th scale layout of Wimborne described four additional landscape models of local attractions - the Osmington White Horse, Badbury Rings, Bath Hill, Bournemouth and Purbeck’s Blue Pool. The models were situated towards the exit area and became superseded by other developments.
Spokesman Greg Hoar said: “It would be wonderful to see any pictures that early visitors may have taken of the landscape models as nothing exists in our archive. We would be very pleased to hear recollections and anecdotal evidence of the Dorset dioramas and visits."
