A COMMUNITY group in Bridport is urging members of the public to take part in a 30-day challenge.
Members of Bridport and District Churches Together are urging people to get their steps in with the 300,000 Step Challenge in May as part of Christian Aid Week.
Due to the climate crisis and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, great damage has been caused to Zimbabwe - and funds from the challenge help those within the African country.
Jill Henderson, co-organiser at Bridport and District Churches Together, said: "The idea is to tote up an impressive number of steps, as an individual or as part of a team of family and friends, or as a group from a club or a church.

"It’s really fun to share the steps and a good way to get to know people better.
"It could include taking a picnic and to make an occasion of it, there are so many lovely places to explore around the west Dorset area."
Christian Aid has been working with two partners in Zimbabwe for more than 18 years, and are able to deliver the most effective support such as drought resistant crops and efficient ways to capture and store any rainfall.
A spokesman from Christian Aid said: "It’s simple, just take 300,000 sponsored steps throughout the month of May.

"You'll raise vital funds for communities battling the worst of this climate crisis.
"Our steps challenge clocks in at just under 10,000 steps a day.
"You can do the challenge alone or with a team, supporting each other to reach your goal. Whether you decide to walk, jump, skip, hop or run your steps is completely up to you."
Christian Aid Week runs from May 15 to 22.
However participants can start this year’s challenge any date in May, and then finish 30 days later.
