Dorset’s ‘Stop the War’ branch has relaunched in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

A public meeting will be held today, Thursday, May 5, to promote the local branch relaunching and to discuss plans for Stop the War’s ‘International Day of Action’ on May 7.

Among the speakers at the virtual meeting will be Lindsey German - national convenor of the Stop the War Coalition, Green Party councillor Jon Orrell, co-chairman of ‘Dorset Stand up to Racism’ Lynne Hubbard and branch secretary of Dorset Unison Amanda Brown.

The local branch has said it intends to campaign for the removal of Russian troops in Ukraine, for all refugees to be welcomed to the UK and against NATO expansion.

The meeting will take place on Zoom at 7.30pm on Thursday. To take part, join through the 'Dorset Stop the War' Facebook page.
