A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash near Blandford.
The A354 was closed in both directions between Kingston Road, Charisworth and A350 at Badgers roundabout.
Police received a report of the collision between a car and a motorcycle at 7.55am yesterday, with officers attending shortly after and putting road closures in place.
The condition of the motorcyclist was not known.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 7.55am of a collision on the A354 near Thornicombe involving a car and a motorcycle.
“Officers have attended and road closures are being put in place. The motorcyclist is being taken to hospital, we do not have an update on their condition at this time."
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) were in attendance to make the scene safe.
A spokesperson for DWFRS Blandford said: “We attended a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorbike. The crew made the scene safe using small tools and an Environment Agency pack.”
The closure caused severe delays but the road was cleared with traffic returning to normal around 9.30am.
