German comedy 'ambassador' Henning Wehn is ready to wring sense out of the nonsensical with a gig planned for Weymouth in June.

The comic promises an unbiased look at a certain virus, which might be inevitable, but Henning has no agenda; he just happens to be always spot on. It’s a curse.

Henning's most recent television and radio appearances include 'Have I Got News For You', 'Would I Lie To You' Live At The Apollo' and '8 Out Of Cats Does Countdown'.

The comedian 'took office' in his ambassadorial role in October 2003 after watching an open mic night that left him convinced that he wouldn’t be all that much worse. Henning has been performing as the self-styled ‘German comedy ambassador’ ever since.

Whilst touring on his own most of the time, he sometimes appears with his countryman Otto Kuhnle and their show 1,000 Years of German Humour was nominated for the Barry Award at the 2009 Melbourne Comedy Festival. Wehn also supported Stewart Lee on tour.

Opinion on his stand-up is divided. Whilst Henning sees himself as one of Britain’s foremost social commentators, everybody else describes him as ‘that German bloke’.
