A BADGER sett in north Dorset has been ‘repeatedly blocked,' as police ask anyone with any information to come forward.
The sett, located near Sherborne, is said to have been tampered with on multiple occasions - which is illegal.
A spokesperson for Sherborne Police said: “A badger sett has been repeatedly blocked near Sherborne.
“The Protection of Badgers Act 1992 makes it illegal to interfere with a badger sett, which includes any of the following things: damaging a badger sett or any part of it, destroying a badger sett and obstructing access to, or any entrance of, a badger sett.
“It also includes causing a dog to enter a badger sett and disturbing a badger when it is occupying a badger sett.”
Anyone with any information regarding these incidents is urged to contact the Sherborne Neighbourhood Policing Team via www.dorset.police.uk/do-it-online// or email 101@dorset.pnn.police
