FIRE crews from south Dorset were rushed to tackle a shed blaze which was getting in close contact with a house earlier today.
Teams from both Weymouth and Portland rushed to the property on Portland and upon arrival found the shed to be well alight.
The firefighters worked hard to extinguish the blaze using a hose reel jet and a mainline hose.
A spokesperson for Portland Fire Station said: “Portland’s first appliance along with another from Weymouth were called to a shed fire.
“Upon arrival, the shed was well alight and the fire was beginning to come in contact with the house.
“Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet and one 45mm mainline, then inspected the property and surrounding area with a thermal imaging camera.”
