DETAILS of the baton relay for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham have now been confirmed.
The south west of England will host the baton on July 4 and 5, with further details of its route across the region to be released in due course.
The Queen’s baton will spend two days in the south west on July 4 - marking the start of the main section of the England relay route.
Baton bearers have already been specially selected to represent the region and carry the baton through communities.
Samuel Russell-Pierce, baton bearer, said: “It is such an honour to have been selected as a baton bearer and to represent the south west in the Queen’s baton relay.
“After having taken on 21 personal challenges to support local charities, I am so excited to take on the Queen’s baton relay and prove that nothing can hold me back.”
The baton is currently visiting the Cayman Islands, which its 50th destination out of 72.
