FRESH groceries and mouthwatering pastries are to tempt shoppers into a new Morrisons branch opening soon in Weymouth.

Convenience chain McColl's is reopening its closed-down branch on the Littlemoor estate in partnership with the supermarket giant, and there's a brand new look in store.

The branch at the Littlemoor Shopping Centre on Littlemoor Road will reopen as a 'Morrisons Daily' on April 1 as part of McColl's vision to provide residents with an 'enhanced' product offering of fresh groceries and convenience goods.

Commenting ahead of the official opening a spokesperson for McColl's said they are "excited" about the plans.

McColl's spokesperson said: "The store in Littlemoor Shopping Centre, Weymouth, Dorset has been temporarily closed for a short-period of time and will be reopening on Friday April 1.

"As part of our plans to provide the local community with an enhanced range of fresh groceries and convenience goods, the store will be transitioning to a Morrisons Daily format, which will be owned and operated by McColl’s.

"Whether the need is breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a light snack, we are excited to offer the local community with a wide range of everyday convenience goods which will include Morrisons own-label food and quality baked goods including bread and pastries, and quality wrapped bakery goods.”
