Most of the time clients just need someone to talk and engage with, to share their memories, to feel heard and visible. A carer should be someone who promotes independence, not dependence, someone who goes above and beyond with everything they do and is not confined to a box. This is where RedJacket Specialist Care comes in.

RedJacket Specialist Care, founded in 2017 by father and son David Towells (CEO) and Jordan Towells (Operations Director), is proud to announce that it's one of the most sought after care providers in Wiltshire.

Covering the whole of the South of the UK, RedJacket are now expanding their wings to cover the Dorset area.

RedJacket Specialist Care offer a tailored, CQC rated care service with a difference. Their sensitive approach has created a new injection of life into the current, antiquated outlook of the care industry.

Combining over 80 years of care experience, alongside their young management teams, the RedJacket family have a modern, driven, out of the box approach to all individuals they provide care to.

In early 2017, it became apparent that there was a lack of “care” in the care industry, especially with individuals who seemed to fall through the cracks and didn’t qualify for domiciliary care. RedJacket continues to go out of their way to find those individuals where families, friends and authorities seem to have given up, those who do not see a bright future or feel they do not deserve one, those who need a companion and someone to rely on or trust.

Without these fundamentals there’s a limit to how much improvement one can achieve; we are social beings and all of us require a helping hand every now and then…
RedJacket started their journey as a mental health service, where longer visits and small clusters of staff were prioritised to reduce the “normal”, socially detached, thirty-minute domiciliary care visits, thus enabling customers of all ages to engage within the community.

Dorset Echo:

“I have been receiving care for decades now and have been a client of RedJacket’s for the past four years. They are the first company that has given me full support and care. They’ve filled me with confidence and went at my pace… for the first time in 30 years I have been able to sit in a restaurant. They have brought light back into my life, where there was only darkness and I’m now beginning to believe there’s a future for me!” – Ms M

Today, RedJacket prides itself on supporting over 150 customers in the community and in their care home, branching into Adult Care, Learning Disabilities, Specialist Care and, in the past year have also opened their Children Services and Domiciliary Care Divisions.

RedJacket offers support to all ages and backgrounds, their youngest customer being 3 years old and their eldest 98.

“My 5-year-old son has Pica eating disorder meaning I must constantly watch him… It can become very stressful and makes me feel like I neglect my other children sometimes. The last 6 months RedJacket has been in the picture and I can’t believe how much easier things are. They watch my son for a few hours each week so I can get on top of things and take my other children out. They’ve assigned a young carer and she’s a delight – she’s like a big sister to him! A breath of fresh air…” – Mrs J

RedJacket also offers bespoke training to their staff to ensure they have all the tools required to support the more complex individuals (for example, NSPCC training for staff assigned to the Children Services Division).

This doesn't just apply to the clients of RedJacket; this also extends to their staff members alike. As is the age of Mental Health how can one support another individual if they do not feel supported themselves? After a long two years of covid, last Christmas RedJacket managed to hold a long overdue awards ceremony to celebrate all their staff members achievements:

“As a team and family, we have created a standard of care that many struggle to replicate. This was our chance to give back and recognise those who went far and beyond for their clients.”- Brandon Towells, HR Director
