Musicians who are heartbroken to see what is happening in Ukraine are holding a special fundraiser to help victims of the war.

The Weymouth Pavilion Ocean Room Fundraiser for Ukraine on Friday, March 25 at 7pm will feature the Ben Waters Band and their unique boogie woogie stylings plus special guest Tom Waters and more.

Join Ben, Tom, Billy Boy Miskimmin’s Mercy Lounge and more to be announced at Weymouth Pavilion and help raise money for the people of Ukraine.

Weymouth resident Ben is an internationally recognised boogie woogie musician who has performed with the likes of Jools Holland and Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones.

Billy Boy Miskimmin of Northern Ireland is one of rhythm and blues' greatest harmonica players and plays with his own band Mercy Lounge. He aims to bring to local audiences the talent and magic which made him part of rock and blues aristocracy.

Get your boogie shoes ready, and come to the resort theatre to support the innocent people of Ukraine. The more people that attend, the more money will be raised. All profits from the concert will be sent to UNICEF, and there will be bucket collections on the night.

Ben Waters, who is organising the fundraiser, said: "I decided after watching the news today that we should do a gig to send money to the Ukrainians.

"We are all heartbroken to see what is happening in Ukraine, local musicians have always chipped in in times of hardship and we want to do our bit to help.

"Come to the pavilion - bring your boogie shoes and support these guys who are having the hardest time ever through no fault of their own."

In support, Weymouth Pavilion have provided the Ocean Room for free and will be continuing to light the venue up every evening in blue and yellow. Dan Wilson is kindly providing security for the event free of charge.

Doors will open at 6.30pm and there will be four bands on starting at 7pm.

All tickets are £20 and can be purchased via Ben Waters website at www.benwaters.com/gigs/
